Even Queens Can Burn Out
Hello, dear reader,
Welcome to this week’s edition of Mother Dearest.
Today, I want to talk about something many women silently carry until they can’t anymore.
Burnout.
Not the dramatic collapse you see in movies.
With a Queen, it's almost never like that.
It's the slow erosion of joy, clarity, and presence.
Let’s take a moment and talk about what it really looks like and what you can do if you're already in it.
A few years ago, I was doing everything “right.”
Posting consistently. Coaching amazing clients. Keeping the house running.
I have started a career in speaking and presenting. I was going for an NLP certification and got my Master Certification while I was pregnant with my twins. I finished 2 speaking courses on Influence and Group Sales.
With all of this under my belt, I started a Social Media management business for 6 & 7-figure entrepreneurs, and it was going well. I fulfilled tasks and was serving my clients, and they got results.
All the while, I was going on dates with my husband, spending time with my kids at home, and working from home. I was finally able to quit my 9-5 job and do this full-time.
It was the start of a new era for me and my family.
But something was off.
I noticed that when I was with my kids, I was on my phone.
I was messaging clients, I was fulfilling tasks, posting on social, and creating content.
But what I was also doing was scrolling and not eating "right".
I felt lonely, and I felt like I was always on.
The thought of stopping gave me anxiety. But I know I wouldn't be able to keep this up.
I almost started to feel resentment in my business, which was doing pretty well.
I started to not want to do reach-outs, post on social, or even show up on stage. But I loved the stage.
I thought maybe I just needed to take time to just rest and exist. And to not worry so much.
So I went on a retreat for 6 days.
Then it hit me.
I wasn’t just tired, I was going numb.
My motivation didn’t dip it vanished.
Even the things I loved started to feel heavy.
I blamed myself.
Told myself maybe if I pushed a little harder, be more disciplined, organize better.
But my body knew what I didn’t:
I wasn’t just tired. I was burnt out.
Burnout doesn’t always announce itself.
It creeps in like a fog—quiet, heavy, and hard to name.
For a long time, I thought I was just doing a lot because I started attracting clients who were needy and demanding.
I thought maybe my message was off, and I needed to revamp.
I thought maybe I need to change it up and do something different.
But what I really needed was
AWARENESS
I didn't realize I was burned out.
This is why I am writing this to you now. This is what I wish I knew when I started running a successful business as a mompreneur.
Here are the 5 subtle signs you might be in burnout:
-
😶 You’re doing the tasks, but feel disconnected from them
-
🛑 Rest doesn’t feel restorative; you wake up still tired
-
✍️ You struggle to make decisions or overthink small ones
-
😔 Joy feels distant, even when life “looks good”
-
🌀 You fantasize about quitting, disappearing, or pausing everything
Does this sound like you?
You’re not broken. You’re not lazy.
You’re depleted.
As a mom, you already have a lot on your plate. Adding a business to that is adding a whole other plate to manage.
Write this down
WITH MORE LEADERSHIP, THERE IS MORE SELF-CARE.
Burnout isn’t solved just by bubble baths and better planners.(Which I totally tried by the way.)
It’s healed by returning to your rhythm and knowing what season you are in.
Remember when I said I was pregnant with twins?
They were one of my greatest lessons in my life.
If it weren't for webinars, I would have had to close my business.
And you need a system to sustain a business while being a mama and an entrepreneur.
And
Inside Launch and Lead, this is what we rebuild:
✨ Systems that honor your energy
✨ Messaging that magnetizes without chasing
✨ Strategy that feels sustainable, not soul-draining
You deserve to grow a business that doesn’t cost your well-being.
